At Al-Maa’uun, the Sahabah Youth Mentorship Program (SYM) is dedicated to emboldening, empowering, and exciting young people through consistent mentorship, engaging activities, and community service.
Our mission is simple: to guide youth toward purpose, confidence, and leadership while nurturing their growth academically, socially, and spiritually. Through mentorship, we help youth become responsible, compassionate, and successful community members—grounded in faith and driven by excellence.

SYM connects youth (ages 13–21) with caring mentors who provide guidance, motivation, and practical life skills through one-on-one mentorship, group outings, and monthly community events.

Explore • Learn • Lead
Al Tabee’ah Adventure Club is a 16-week outdoor leadership program where youth build confidence, leadership, and survival skills while connecting with nature. Participants explore trails, camp, learn archery, hunting education, ecosystem science, mushroom foraging, and discover local creeks and nature reserves through hands-on adventures and mentorship.

Program Details
Program Length: 16 Weeks
Who Can Join: SYM Mentees
Location: Various parks, trails, nature reserves, and outdoor learning sites throughout Minnesota.

Our Mission
To inspire youth to become confident leaders by combining outdoor adventure, environmental education, and mentorship in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Grant Funding
Almaauun ‘s SYM (Sahabah Youth Mentorship) is supported in part by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) through the No Child Left Inside Grant Program. This funding expands access to outdoor education by providing youth with hands-on experiences in nature, environmental science, leadership development, and outdoor recreation.
Through this grant, SYM participants build confidence, develop practical outdoor skills, and foster a lifelong appreciation for Minnesota’s natural resources through activities such as hiking, camping, archery, ecosystem science, nature exploration, and environmental stewardship.
